Rally Car Camera Systems

What a rally car camera has to do

A rally car is the hardest place to film. Long days, hot cabins, gravel, vibration, and a crew strapped in with helmets on. A camera that works on a bike or a road car often fails here. Ours are built around five things:

  • Start recording without reaching the camera. A wired button on the dash or roll bar: one press at the stage start, one press at the end.

  • Know it's recording. An LED in your eyeline, so you never finish a stage to find nothing was filmed.

  • Never go flat. Hardwired 12V power means no battery swaps in service and no charging overnight.

  • Hear the pace notes. An intercom cable records your Stilo, Peltor, Zero Noise or Terratrip audio into the video.

  • See through the windscreen. Spot metering keeps the stage ahead clear instead of washed out by the bright sky.

Rally camera questions

Where should I mount the camera in a rally car? Most crews mount it on the roll cage behind the crew, looking forward through the windscreen. A second camera can face back at the crew.

Will it record our pace notes? Yes. The intercom cable plugs into your intercom's camera output and records everything said over the intercom.

Does it work for a whole rally day? Yes. It runs from the car's 12V, so it's ready for every stage with no battery changes.
